Marina Cooper’s role as the executive assistant to Benny Charles appeals to her inquisitive nature, her empathy, and her perseverance.
Originally from the small town of Pine Mountain in Southern California, Marina’s early professional career stemmed from her compassion for both animals and people. Excelling in natural horsemanship, she was a professional horse trainer for all ages, breeds, and disciplines at an equestrian center, and she later became a nursing assistant in acute care and medical technology. Both of these experiences taught Marina the importance of adapting, building stamina, alleviating fear through comfort, and handling all types of personalities and situations with kindness and fortitude.
When Marina accepted Benny’s offer to become his assistant, she was drawn to the position because of Benny’s very similar work ethic, his care for people, and the fact that in real estate, no two days are alike. Marina appreciates the dynamic environment, how it challenges her creativity and determination, and that there are limitless opportunities to learn and grow in the field.
Marina lives in San Diego with her husband and son and enjoys every minute of her free time with family and friends. She also enjoys music, art, gardening, and especially being out on the water with her family — she never tires of the magic of maritime life!

For Joseph Cardoza, success in the real estate business comes down to one thing: being a good communicator. That’s why since becoming an agent, Joseph has made it a point to frequently hold open houses. Not only do they allow him to talk to people and hear their stories, but more importantly, they give him the opportunity to listen. An emphasis on listening to people, Joseph believes, is the most valuable quality of any excellent real estate professional, and it’s what he offers his clients.
Joseph grew up in Escondido, California, where he still lives and works. Before real estate, he had a successful 12-year career as the office manager for a reprographics printing company, a job that taught him leadership skills, as well as the value of customer service. In 2008, Joseph and his wife bought their first home, and Joseph played an active role in the buying process, which initially spurred his interest in real estate. When it was time to sell in 2016, Joseph hired Benny Charles, who did such an amazing job that it inspired Joseph to obtain a license himself. He joined Benny’s team in 2019, and since then, he’s been working tirelessly to ensure that all of his clients achieve their homeownership dreams.
When he’s not working, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons. He also does his part to give back to his community. A devoted man of faith, Joseph is a regular at his local church. He also volunteers as a guest speaker for the RESPECT Project, a program developed by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department that provides at-risk youth with positive alternatives to drugs, gangs, and crime. Additionally, Joseph makes time to coach soccer for his sons, and he enjoys the beach, camping, and off-roading in the Glamis Sand Dunes with family and friends. It’s Joseph’s belief that by being deeply committed to his family and faith, he can be of better service to others.
